About My Weight Loss Approach

The sooner you learn about how you are acting around food, the easier it is to take huge steps away from dieting cycles. At Mind over Mass there are no sins and no targets. It’s all about learning what actually needs to change, then putting into practice what you’ve learnt!

The Mind over Mass sustainable weight loss programme is a tried and tested method.

I’ve worked with people over many years to help with weight loss.

People like you who struggle to gain control over their eating.

My approach isn’t a diet, but it also works well alongside a diet to maintain a healthy weight long term. I’ve found that the key to sustained weight loss is looking at the relationship someone has with food.

The Programme Format

I offer a free 15 minute chat as an opportunity for us to get to know each other and discuss your situation. This ensures you end up working with the right person to help you.

This is approximately a one hour session which will be completed using video conferencing.

We’ll meet at least every two weeks virtually and I am available via email for support in between.

How does it happen?

The assessment is to find out more information about you, how long you have been struggling with you weight and things you have tried in the past and what you are currently doing.

I am trying to understand how it feels in your world, the things you are juggling in life and how you think and behave around food. At the end of the assessment I am in a position to advise you how long I think we might need to work together and we shall start to think about what changes you can make.

The assessment takes place via video conferencing using Zoom. Don’t worry if you don’t have an account or login, I will send you a link and can talk you through using it if you aren’t familiar with the system. You will need a computer, tablet or smartphone (preferably with a camera) and a good internet connection.

Generally assessments are completed virtually. However I can make an exception and arrange a face to face meeting if essential. This would take place at Solihull Wellbeing Clinic in Hall Green, Birmingham.


How do I book?

The initial assessment takes about 60 minutes to complete and costs £125. To book email my assistant Jemma on admin@mindovermass.co.uk to arrange an convenient appointment.

Payment for the assessment must be made in full at least 5 working days prior to the assessment date. You can pay using Credit or Debit card via GoCardless here or contact Jemma if you would prefer to transfer funds from your bank account.

You will receive a full refund if you cancel a session at least 48 hours before we are due to meet. If it is within 48 hours of the session you will receive a 75% refund. If I fill the slot you will receive a full refund (minus any charges).

How it works

Regular contact is essential, change won’t occur without this. We meet at least once every fortnight but if you feel you are struggling in between the sessions I ask that you send me an email, and I can continue to support you until our next session or we can arrange a session sooner.

Most of my clients will be in contact with me every 2 weeks for the first 6 months. As your confidence and ability to listen to your body increases, our sessions will be less frequent until you decide that you no longer need me (normally I prompt you because sometimes it can be hard to let go or the support). You will either be at your size target or you will feel confident reaching this point on your own.

All follow up sessions are conducted virtually using WebEx and again you will need a computer, tablet or phone (preferably with a camera) and a good internet connection.

Please note Webex works best in Chrome. IT skills are not required! The system is easy to use and I will talk you through the set up.

How do I book?

The follow up sessions cost £85 per month. Regular contact is important so this monthly fee covers at least two 20 minute sessions. You are also encouraged to email me for additional support. At times there might be a feeling that you have ‘failed’ and your eating feels out of control. Like it used to be before you started working with me. I say to my clients – don’t wait to get in touch.

I also offer a more intensive package comprising weekly appointments; sometimes twice weekly if required. This is a good option if you are experiencing difficulties and need additional support. This enhanced package costs £155 per month. I will talk you though which package is most appropriate during your introductory chat. Most people only need to be seen fortnightly.

Payments can be set up easily via GoCardless or email Jemma for my bank details to set up a standing order. If you are paying via GoCardless please set your payment up 5 days prior our first session. If paying via standing order please use your name as the reference and set it up to leave your account on the day of our first follow up session.
